Charlize Theron comment to black actress gets her labelled as misguided and insensitive

Seems like the race issue cannot escape South Africans even if they become Oscar winning actresses as our meisie Charlize Theron learnt a couple of days ago when she was accused of being misguided and insensitive toward African-American actress Viola Davis.

At Newsweek’s Oscar roundtable, Viola Davis was discussing the problems of being a black actress in Hollywood when Theron jumped in to compliment her by saying “you’re hot as shit”.

Her well-intended comment has unfortunately been used by dumbass Americans to highlight exactly what the problem in Hollywood is.

Here’s what a DailyBeast writer had to say about Theron’s comment.

“How sweet of Theron to say, and how thoroughly misguided and offensive as well. Davis was honestly confronting a number of painful and complicated issues faced by many women of color in Hollywood today—issues Theron (who was born in South Africa to parents of European descent) more than likely has never encountered and would have done well to listen to.” [Daily Beast]

Oh please.

Everyone knows saying you’re ‘hot as sh*t” is a huge compliment. Ok so she coulda chosen a better moment to say it, but labelling her offensive is a tad much hey.

What do you think? Justified or just typical American self-righteous kak and they’re just trying to black ball her…oooh see what i did there?
